A man who was attacked with an axe on Church Road, Rochdale on Tuesday (17 October) afternoon has serious injuries to his hand.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
A police spokesperson said: "A cordon is in place on Church Road between Milnrow Road and John’s Drive.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances around this incident."
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1398 of 17/10/17.
