St Margaret’s Rainbows Beauty and the Beast challenge

Date published: 26 September 2017

St Margaret’s Rainbows became the Belle’s of the Ball at their Princess-inspired party to celebrate the completion of their Beauty and the Beast challenge badge.

The success of the film remake has inspired many challenges to spring up throughout girlguiding.

Members from Heywood were among more than 26,000 girlguiding members who attended the mass screening on, which took place at Odeon cinemas across the UK.

St Margaret’s Rainbows continued with the Beauty and the Beast theme, completing several inspired activities.

Rainbows, aged five to seven, spent time creating wonderful items including chip cups, roses from celery, designing and making mirrors, tiaras and goblets before capping off their activities with a Princess Party, at which they received their challenge badge.

Carly, aged six, said: “I had a great time completing all the challenges. My favourite part was when I got to dress up as a Princess for our party.”

Suzanne Woodward, assistant leader, said: “The Rainbows have had a fantastic time completing this challenge. Everyone has worked really hard and we celebrated with our Princess Party.”
