Danczuk accused of "spewing vile comments"

Date published: 04 June 2017

The day after the horrific attack in London on Saturday night, in which seven people lost their lives and dozens more have been injured, Simon Danczuk has again caused outrage, this time by seeking to use the London atrocity to smear the Labour Party again.

Danczuk posted a tweet which misrepresented Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn's views.

A Labour Party spokesman said: "At a time when all decent politicians have come together to express their deep sympathy to the relatives and friends of those killed and injured in this horrific attack, Danczuk stoops to a new low in attempting to make political advantage out of it. He has been rightly condemned by hundreds of people on social media.

"Our thoughts should be with the victims, not trying to smear opponents in a cheap bid to win votes.

"Every day Danczuk gets more and more desperate. His whole campaign is based on mud-slinging, discredited lies and distasteful personal attacks. He is an embarrassment to himself and Rochdale."

Examples of the many replies to Danczuk's tweet

Di Coffey‏ posted: "@SimonDanczuk is spewing vile comments..."

Anne McMenemy‏ posted: "Show some respect Simon. And give it a rest with the lies."

Carran O'Grady posted: "Showing sympathy to #LondonAttacks families NOT. Do you care about the victims at all? You are to politics what Dr Shipman was to patients."

Matt Hudson‏ posted: "People have died! This is offensive to make politicised commentary after terrorist attacks."

Previous Danczuk smear

Team Danczuk previously plumbed new depths by seeking to use the Manchester Arena atrocity to smear Tony Lloyd, the Labour candidate in the forthcoming general election.

Danczuk chagrin

The Danczuks have been engaged in a particularly "nasty and vindictive" campaign against Tony Lloyd since Mr Lloyd was chosen as the Labour Party candidate, much to the chagrin of Danczuk who coveted the Labour candidacy himself.

An observation not lost on many - typical was a comment posted by Leon Tootle, who said: "We all know you'd be running as a Labour candidate if you'd been allowed to, Simon."
