Ariana Grande coming back to Manchester for a benefit concert

Ariana Grande will be joined by Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Take That and others when she returns to Manchester on Sunday for a concert to raise funds for those affected by last week's attack.

The One Love Manchester benefit concert at Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, will also feature Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Niall Horan and others.

Net ticket proceeds will go to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund which was set up by Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross, in aid of grieving families and victims of the horrific attack.

And fans who were at Ariana's concert last Monday will be able to claim free tickets to by registering online today.

General admission and hospitality tickets will be on sale from 10am on Thursday (1 June).

The concert will be broadcast on BBC TV and radio.

Ariana, who said she was "broken" after the attack, suspended her tour and returned home to the USA after 22 people were killed and 120 were injured when a suicide bomber targeted crowds leaving Manchester Arena on May 22.

In an open letter, the singer said: "My heart, prayers and condolences are with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones.

"There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way.

"I don't want to go the rest of the year without being able to see and hold and uplift my fans, the same way they continue to uplift me.

"Out response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to love more kindly and generously than we did before.

"I'll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fan and to have a benefit concert in honour of and to raise money for the victims and their families.

"I want to thank my fellow musicians and friends for reaching out to be a part of our expression of love for Manchester."

Lancashire CCC and Emirates Old Trafford have said they will continue to work closely with the artists, promoters, police, Trafford Council, Manchester City Council and all relevant authorities to ensure the event is a fitting way to remember the 22 people who lost their lives, the hundreds who were injured and the many other people who will always be affected by the attack.

David Hodgkiss, LCCC chairman, said: "The victims, families and friends of all those affected by the tragic event remain at the forefront of everyone's thoughts. We are proud to be part of what promises to be an emotional occasion, and a showcase of music, enjoyment, memories and reflection, that we can hope can go some way to easing the pain and heartache that this great city has endured in the last week.

"The pride, strength and spirit that has been seen in the last week is testament to the character of the people of Manchester."
