Damage caused to houses on The Heath in Middleton

At approximately 9.30pm on Friday 7 April 2006, police in Rochdale received reports that damage had been caused to houses on The Heath in Middleton.
Officers attended along with members of the Fire Service.
It is believed that the roofs of several garages were blown off by the wind, causing damage to the roofs and windows of at least three houses on the street. There are no reports of any injuries.
People living in three houses were evacuated as a precaution and are believed to have spent the night with relatives.
Officers stayed at the scene for several hours until the damaged premises had been secured.
