Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk will not be the Labour party’s candidate for Rochdale in the general election.
A Labour party spokesperson said. “The Labour party’s NEC endorsement panel unanimously recommended that he should not be endorsed as a Labour candidate.
“He will not be able to stand as a Labour candidate in any constituency at the general election.”
Mr Danczk, who has been involved in a long catalogue of scandals, has been suspended from the party since December 2015 after he sent sex messages to a 17-year-old girl who was seeking a job.
Mr Danczuk had not responded to an invitation to comment at the time of publication.
