The Friends of Wince Brook are appealing for volunteers to plant 300 trees at 10am on Saturday 18 February as part of The 10,000 Trees Project.
The trees, provided by the Woodland Trust, will be planted under the supervision of Ranger Mike Cummings.
A spokesperson for The Friends said: “Mike Cummings and the Green Volunteers have been working hard maintaining the path from Kirkway. They have cut back the brambles which were encroaching towards the footpath and cleared all litter which had been thrown into the hedge.
“I must commend the Green Volunteers once again. Many of them do not live locally, yet they drive miles to help maintain areas such as ours and do it all for the sheer satisfaction of a job well done.
“We need as many people as possible to help plant the trees and we should be finished by noon.”
The group will be meeting at the Davidson Drive entrance.
