Date published: 06 January 2017

A black Ford Fiesta collided with a bus shelter on Church Street in Heywood on Thursday (5 January) night at around 7.30pm.

Police were called for traffic management as the car was side ways across the road near Heywood Civic Centre.

A GMP spokesperson said: “The vehicle was recovered but the bus stop was ruined. The council has been informed about the bus stop.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: “The driver was out of the vehicle walking but could have been in shock. He was checked by paramedics and wasn’t taken to hospital.”
