Jimmy Cricket brings Christmas musical magic to children’s hospice

Date published: 27 October 2016

Comedian Jimmy Cricket entertained families at Francis House Children’s Hospice with a mini concert to launch the release of his charity Christmas CD on 12 October.

Francis House volunteers and parents of some of the children who are cared for at Francis House enjoyed an evening of comedy and songs by Jimmy and his wife May Marion, Jim Nicholas (AKA Cliff’s Disco) and the school choir from St Patrick’s RC primary School in Rochdale.

Jimmy said: “Everyone had a fun time and the choir not only sung superbly but their enthusiasm was also great! Doing charity shows and having supported Francis House for a long time, I’m very aware of the wonderful work they do and I knew instinctively I wanted to raise funds for them when I was planning this CD. As the album is Christmas themed and Christmas is a time for children, it just seemed a natural fit.

“The songs from the new CD and were all well received, with a particular good reaction granted to the signature track of the CD, ‘Santa bring my wellies back to me’, and to the novelty song, ‘No one wants Wilbur’ (the turkey)!”

The CD is available from: www.jimmycricket or from the fundraising team at Francis House Children’s Hospice by calling 0161 443 2200 or dropping in to the fundraising office at 390 Parrswood Road, Didsbury, Manchester, M20 5NA.

Francis House Children’s Hospice provides respite care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and the necessary support and short-term rest for their families.
