Residents angry as travellers arrive on Kingsway
Date published: 30 June 2016
Local residents have expressed their anger as travellers with their caravans made their way over fields to camp on greenery close to Kingsway Business Park tram stop.
Residents say they are worried about the mess that is caused and left and how long the travellers will stay.
Kingsway Councillor Lynne Brosnan said their arrival is “simply unacceptable”.
She added: “They really are a nuisance. It’s the mess they leave behind that is annoying, because that means they continue to be a problem even after they’ve gone.
“Boulders and things are in the area to stop them but they always find a way.
“I assume plans are in place to get them moved on, I’ll certainly be making some calls.
“It’s not on that they come and make a mess and leave the taxpayer to pick up the bill.”
