Bus fare winners and losers
Date published: 06 April 2016
Stagecoach Manchester has cut the price of bus travel for passengers using its most popular tickets — but other fares have increased.
The local operator has reduced its Dayrider ticket by 10p to £4, while its seven-day, 28-day and Xtra Megarider tickets have had their prices frozen for a year. Child’s Dayrider and Magic fares have also been fixed for the next 12 months.
But single adult tickets will increase by 10p and single child fares will rise by 5p.
Stagecoach Manchester managing director, Christopher Bowles, said: “The new fares provide a price cut for passengers in Manchester who regularly use our buses, while the price freezes for many of our tickets provide an added sense of reassurance over the next 12 months.”
