A Colourful Ending for the Carnival Of Cultures

Date published: 24 May 2005

It’s been a fun packed week for Rochdale with the Carnival of Cultures, including the Arts Week, and to mark the end of the week's events, a Carnival Parade took place in the Town Centre.

Fronted by Rochdale’s new Mayor and Mayoress Ashley Dearnley and Beryl Wright, the parade started at Hopwood Hall College at 1.00pm, and marched along Newgate, past the Town Hall and onto the Butts.

Local talent present included Pandemonium Drumming Circle, Middleton Popstars Academy, M6 Youth Theatre Group, Rochdale Youth Service and more, plus some unusual guests from London: Soca Saga, London DJ’s that are specialists in Soca and Zouk.
