Rochdale Training celebrates completion of refurbished Training Centre

Date published: 14 September 2015

Rochdale Training celebrated the completion of the recently refurbished Training Centre on Fishwick Street on Friday 11 September. Employers and apprentices were joined by Simon Danczuk, MP for Rochdale, Mayor, Surinder Biant and Mayoress Cecile Biant.

Jill Nagy, CEO of Rochdale Training, welcomed everyone and gave an overview of the project stating: “We’ve been established as an Apprenticeship Training Provider in Rochdale for nearly 50 years. We want to provide a high quality learning environment for our Apprentices and adult learners, and good working conditions for our staff.”

The organisation has experienced significant growth and needed more space for new apprentices to meet the needs of local employers. The project was part funded by the Skills Funding Agency who contributed a third of the costs.

The refurbished facilities now means that Rochdale Training is able to deliver a range of in house training, which includes technical certificates/theory qualification from Level 2 to Level 4 HNC and Higher Advanced Manufacturing, Business Admin, Health & Social Care and Leadership & Management.

Mrs Nagy said: “This refurbishment has already afforded Rochdale Training and its learners, many fantastic opportunities. Thank you to the people involved including, Board of Trustees, Kaberry Construction, apprentices and employees at Rochdale Training”.

Simon Danczuk officially opened the refurbished centre. He said: “Rochdale Training does exceptional work in the community, supporting local businesses and helping young people and adults into employment.

"There is a great atmosphere here, every time I visit there is a real positive buzz about the place. It’s clear that everyone involved is passionate about helping people get the skills they need to find fulfilling, long-term jobs.

"I’m sure these fantastic new facilities will help them go from strength to strength.”
