Ethnic Minority Rochdale Awards 2004
The Rochdale Ethnic Minority Business Support group (EMBS) are to hold the inaugural EM Rochdale Awards 2004 at Rochdale Town Hall. The awards will ‘celebrate business and community success’ achieved by Ethnic Minority companies and enterprises across the Borough of Rochdale.
The most remarkable, inspirational and successful ethnic minority businesses in the Borough of Rochdale will be recognized and rewarded for their hard work and achievements at the prestigious dinner held at 7.30pm on 17 September. The awards are split into eight different categories, each recognizing the most outstanding individuals and groups in business over the past year.
The categories are:
- Retailer of the Year
- New Business Start Up
- Young Entrepreneur of the Year
- Best Business Mentor of the Year
- ICT / Innovation Award of the Year
- Business of the Year
- Business Woman of the Year
- Workforce Development of the Year
In addition to the awards ceremony, a Business Support exhibition will also be held in Rochdale Town Hall committee rooms one & two, from 12.00pm - 4.00pm. It is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to set up a business or wanting a career change to benefit from the various business support agencies offering their services. The exhibition is open to the general public.
If you think that your business deserves to be recognized for its achievements, please contact Nighat Fatima by phone (01706 630140) or via email (nighat@kyp.org.uk) to obtain an entry form. Official entry forms must be signed and received no later than the 30 August. All entries will be treated in confidence. You must be of ethnic origin to enter, up to two entries per business. The judge’s decision is final.
EMBS was developed with the aim of promoting self-employment within ethnic minority groups, assisting them in exploring new business opportunities by supplying them with sound advice, training, guidance and access to mainstream finances. It has rapidly expanded and now has a client database of over ninety established, pre-start and newly established businesses that have benefited from the free service EMBS offer.
