Date published: 14 July 2004

On the 14 July members from Rochdale based company Holroyd got the chance to meet The Queen and other members of the Royal family at a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate British Enterprise.

Three members from the company, along with members of another 11 North West companies, were invited to the reception which was also attended by the Prime Minister, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry.

Holroyd, who are based in Milnrow, are a specialist engineering firm and were winners of the prestigious Queen’s Award 2004 in the innovation category for their high-precision thread and gear grinding systems.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise differ from personal honours because they recognise the achievement of the successful business unit as a whole – management and employees working as a team.
