Performance Doorset Solutions, based in Rochdale, has identified a rewarding market in local authorities, housing associations and homeowners who need doorsets that meet the Secured by Design Standards.

Ian Cavanagh and Tim Fairley saw great potential in the manufacture of factory finished security doorsets. To avoid pitfalls over premises, finances and other issues, Ian and Tim approached Business Link North Manchester, their adviser Dave Hardy says, "Our advice led to the award of an Enterprise Grant and access to the Small Firms Loans Guarantee Fund."

Performance Doorset Solutions are now preparing for its forthcoming expansion plans. Ian says, "We are very busy and expanding into the unit next door which will double our floor space, we are also buying new machinery".

Performance Doorset Solutions set up in March last year had a turnover of 1.7 million in their first year with 10 employees, they are hoping their turnover for their second year will be over 2 million.

They are doing work for Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, replacing all the external doors in council homes.
