New BNI Leadership Team
Date published: 07 October 2003
Nigel Holland (St James's Place Partnership) and Pam Coates (Pamela Coates Dental Practice) hand over the leadership of the Rochdale BNI Chapter to Phil Moseley (Key Control Services), Tony Nugent (Anthony K Associates Ltd) and David Hildreth (RFP Surveys
The new leadership team of the Rochdale Chapter of BNI has been appointed for the next six months:
Chapter Director: Tony Nugent
Membership Coordinator: Phil Moseley
Secretary/Treasurer: David Hildreth.
The Chapter meets once a week at Rochdale Town Hall for a breakfast meeting with a regular attendance of 34 members plus visitors invited by members with a view to joining. The meeting consists of one person from each profession or trade who is given the opportunity to speak about themselves and their business and the type of business they are looking for.
The Rochdale Chapter was formed in November 2001 with a core group of fewer than 10 members and was formally launched on 19 February 2002. The numbers have steadily increased to 34 with pending applications to achieve 40 members by the end of 2003.
The amount of business transacted since inception has exceeded £600,000 between members, far in excess of the members expectations when the Chapter was first formed.
Tony Nugent, the Chapter Director says, "I have been appointed at a fantastic time by a very successful Chapter and having been a member of the original core group it gives me a huge sense of achievement for the members. New members are amazed at these figures, but we do a regular reality check to ensure the value of the business received reflects the amount of referrals given.
My ambition is to encourage all members in the Chapter to participate in the BNI philosophy of Giver's Gain - if you give me business, then I will give you business. We will achieve this by giving inspiration to our members by providing training for them in skills of networking, presentations and the art of meeting and greeting people which is underestimated by many people in business.
We have huge potential and like any growing business we realise that people make a business and the more our members participate, the more they will get out by making money for their fellow members who in turn will make money for them."
