Commuting to and from Kingsway Business Park convenient thanks Metrolink stop

Date published: 01 May 2013

Rochdale residents will be delighted to discover commuting to and from Kingsway Business Park will now be much more convenient thanks to a new Kingsway Metrolink stop.

Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes North West, in partnership with Wilson Bowden Developments, Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council, Rochdale Development Agency and Greater Manchester Metrolink, has helped to fund the delivery of the new Kingsway Metrolink stop, which opened earlier this year and provides improved accessibility to the Business Park and new homes via public transport.

A new foot/cycle path connecting the site to the new Metrolink stop has also been developed, increasing transport links to the city centre for residents of the Kingsway development, situated adjacent to Kingsway Business Park.

Andrew Taylor, Planning Director for David Wilson Homes North West, comments: “David Wilson Homes North West is committed to improving and enhancing the local communities surrounding its developments and supporting the new Metrolink stop is a perfect example of this commitment.

“We are delighted to support the new Metrolink stop, which previously was not possible due to lack of funding. Not only is this a major boost for the business park, it also provides Kingsway residents with easy access to Rochdale and Manchester city centres as well as other local towns.”

In addition, the introduction of this new Metrolink stop marks continued progress at Kingsway Business Park, which has recently been named as one of the top 10 most active regeneration projects in the country, partly attributed to the sale of homes at the Kingsway development.
