Rentruck supported Santander Superhero Tag Team

Date published: 25 April 2013

Rentruck/Cool Running Rental from the Kingsway area in Rochdale supported the Santander Superhero Tag Team Challenge to raise funds for The Eve Appeal gynaecological cancer research charity.

‘Superhero’ tag teams from Santander Corporate and Commercial Banking took on the challenge of travelling from Liverpool on the West coast to Hull on the East coast in 12 hours on a maximum budget of £50.

Rentruck/Cool Running Rental, provided a complimentary minibus for the challenge and thanks to this invaluable support the colourful teams completed the challenge at the Santander Offices in Hull, while stopping off to switch tag teams and ‘save the world’ at various points along the way.

‘Superhero’ Nigel Sims, Relationship Director at Santander in Manchester (aka Superman) has supported The Eve Appeal since he lost his sister to ovarian cancer three years ago. The symptoms of ovarian cancer are often difficult to spot until a late stage when treatment is less successful, so Nigel is determined to raise awareness to help save other women’s lives.

Nigel said: “Joanne would be proud and amused to know that I organised this tag team challenge to raise funds for The Eve Appeal.

“When my colleagues Mick Pickering (Batman) and Rob Dolan (Superman) explained the issues to Richard Cotton, Director of Rentruck, he instantly agreed to support us. We just can’t thank them enough for their support as it is doubtful that we’d have made it to Hull without their minibus (aka Bat Mobile).
