Claimants become entrepreneurs to get out of benefits trap

The number of benefit claimants setting up their own business with Government support has jumped by 86% in the last six months, according to the latest figures.
The number of people taking advantage of the New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) in the last six months has risen from 8,180 to 15,210.
Under the NEA, entrepreneurial jobseekers are given the opportunity to have expert coaching and financial support to establish their own business.
Minister for Employment, Mark Hoban, said: "I'm delighted we've helped more than 15,000 jobseekers with the get up and go to set up their own business. Each week hundreds more businesses are being launched thanks to the mentoring and financial support we're able to offer.
"We're backing those people prepared to put in the hard work to realise their dreams and make a success of themselves, and over the next few months we'll help thousands more budding entrepreneurs move off benefits by becoming their own boss."
