Rochdale Training: 'good with outstanding features', says Ofsted

Rochdale Training has been rated good with outstanding features in its latest Ofted inspection.

The report says: “Teaching, training, learning and assessment are outstanding and this is reflected in the high, and sometimes very high, achievements for apprentices and learners”.

“Learners’ experiences of this high standard of training contributes significantly to their enjoyment of learning and to the good progress they make.”

“The experienced training staff are well qualified and skillful in enriching their teaching and they use their vocational knowledge very well to help explain difficult concepts in an imaginative and relevant way.”

“Staff have high expectations of learners and use creative approaches to make learning interesting and stimulating.”

As well as the quality of teaching, early years play work apprenticeships and business administration apprenticeships were also judged as outstanding.

Outcome for learners, engineering apprenticeships, employability classroom learning and leadership and management was rated as good.

Chief Executive, Jill Nagy said: “In our previous inspection we got good and satisfactory, now its all good and outstanding.

"It is a real credit to Rochdale and there is a lot here to be proud of.

"We have some fantastic learners and fantastic teachers and the staff are second to none, and that is why we have got this result.”

Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk said: “This is fantastic news for the organisation and a real credit to all the staff, to all the youngsters involved as well as their parents and wider businesses who provide an opportunity for these young people to gain work experience. This is a Rochdale organisation putting the town on the map for all the right reasons.”
