Belle Vue have landed a new three-year main sponsorship deal and will be known as the Rentruck Aces under an agreement worth five figures a year with the Rochdale-based van and car rental company.
The period was mutually acceptable to both parties with Rentruck keen to be in position as main sponsor when the club move to their new stadium, even though Manchester City Council sanction is still awaited.
Apart from Rentruck, the club’s race suits will also include the logo for Coolrunning, the company’s refrigerated truck division.
Managing Director Richard Cotton said: “It’s the first time we have done sponsorship of this magnitude. The deal will include vans and cash.
"It’s a business decision but it’s also a labour of love because my dad, Eric, sponsored Chris in the 1980s.
“I asked for a three-year deal with the new stadium coming because that would attract more TV coverage and help to bring in more top class riders to make Belle Vue, the Manchester United of British speedway once again.”
