Happy Christmas From the Chamber

Date published: 19 December 2012

Clive Memmott, Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, gives his Christmas message and looks ahead to 2013.

"As this will be the last Chamber News of 2012 and we rapidly approach the festive break, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year.

"This year has seen the Chamber do some good work on your behalf, but I guess that's bound to be my view - the proof of the pudding is what you think. This month’s 53 Degrees has a two page review of our year with some highlights, some you'll recall and maybe even took part in, such as our Annual Dinner or one of our newly launched Action For Business Forums that are going down a storm at present.

"2013 promises not just more of the same but real changes to how and what we deliver to help businesses grow and prosper in a prolonged period of economic growth. There are still many challenges to face and as ever issues and problems will crop up that will get in the way of progress. Our job is to find ways between us to get round these obstacles and, when necessary, demolish them.

"At times such as Christmas the sense of community is perhaps stronger than ever and I’d like to think that by being more accessible and open about what we as the UK’s largest Chamber can do to help, that we can offer support when you need it most and a sense of comradeship at other times.

"That though is for next year, until then I would like to thank our members, partners and the wide range of key people that we do business with for their continued support. Make the most of time spent with family and friends and let’s look to next year with lots of hope, confidence and enthusiasm.

"With very best wishes for a happy Christmas and hopes for a safe and prosperous New Year."

The Chamber's offices will be closed from 5pm on Friday 21 December and will re-open on Wednesday 2 January.
