Strong turnout makes networking breakfast a success
Date published: 12 October 2012
Business leaders turned out to support Rochdale Rochdale Rochdale (RRR) at the group’s latest Business Networking Breakfast event at the Norton Grange Hotel.
The event, attended by representatives of 23 local businesses, saw former bank manager Ekum Todd give a speech entitled, “Managing your Bank Manager”.
Marcus Wright, who attended the event, commented afterwards that he enjoyed it: “Working in the banking industry myself I found Ekum Todd's presentation very interesting,” he said.
“The emphasis on a good working relationship with your bank manager is very important and he also gave some great tips on what’s important when it comes to seeking business lending from banks.”
John Byrne, founder of the RRR group, described it as a ‘great show’: “Ekum's insight into the banking world was very informative and attendance was very good,” he added.
Set up in June 2011, the RRR group aims to promote pride and productivity in the borough of Rochdale, with the breakfasts allowing business leaders to network in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
By starting at 7.15am, the breakfasts run under the premise that people can attend and still be at their desks for the start of the working day.
Stuart Sawle, who organises the breakfasts, said he was pleased with the higher than expected turnout, and also the progress the RRR group has made.
