Businesses to have their say on future of Rochdale

Date published: 04 April 2012

Businesses in Rochdale will get the chance to hear about future plans for the borough at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce's next networking lunch.

Taking place at Rochdale Town Hall later this month, the Chamber will be welcoming John Hudson, Chief Executive of the Rochdale Development Agency, to the networking event, where he will give businesses an update on the regeneration proposals for Rochdale town centre.

With over £250 million of investment planned for the town centre over the next five years, the town centre is already being transformed and is the Council's number one economic development priority. The progress on the new riverside offices and library development has already started to dramatically change the skyline, with more developments now on-site including the Transport Interchange and the Metrolink.

Michelle Geoghegan, Rochdale Local Policy Manager at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: "This event represents a good opportunity for businesses to hear first-hand about the plans for Rochdale town centre. Attendees will be able to ask questions and have their say on the proposals and put forward the views of Rochdale businesses. Our lunches in Rochdale always attract a range of different businesses, so present great networking opportunities too."

The networking lunch in Rochdale will take place on Tuesday 17 April, from 12noon-2.00pm, at Rochdale Town Hall. All businesses welcome.
