PDS employees take to the skies for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 11 May 2023

Seven employees at Performance Doorset Solutions are taking to the skies for Springhill Hospice this weekend.

Kev Barnes, Chloe Wainwright, Charlotte Larkin, Drew Keane, Zoe Ashington, Neil Russell and Josh Farrell will undertake the skydive on 14 May to raise funds for the local hospice.

Springhill Hospice revealed earlier this month that it has entered a £1million shortfall for 2023, due to a number of factors. As the cost of living has skyrocketed, Springhill has experienced a colossal rise in energy and running costs, accompanied with a lack of increased government funding, which has left the hospice in crisis.

It currently costs just under £15,000 each day to fund the care provided at Springhill Hospice and more than half of this needs to come from donations from the local community.

Working with Skydive North West, Springhill's skydiving challenge sees supporters securely harnessed to a professional skydiver before free-falling from up to 15,000 ft, reaching an incredible speed of about 120mph.

The instructor deploys, flies and lands the parachute, allowing supporters to relax and enjoy stunning once-in-a-lifetime views of the Lake District.

Donations to support PDS’ skydive team can be made via JustGiving:
