Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale’s Environmental Business Services team invite local businesses to join our North Manchester Resource Efficiency Club – membership is FREE. However time is running out, and anybody wishing to take part must be registered by Monday 23 January at the latest!
The aim of the club is to determine the quantity of resources, such as electricity, gas and raw materials a business uses, and then take initial steps to reducing this spend and environmental impact. Members of the club will benefit from at least 3 site visits, useful publications, telephone support and access to subsidised training on how to reduce the consumption and spend on resources.
Businesses joining the club will gain a clearer view of the consumption and cost of resources, and through taking simple steps with the assistance of a Groundwork Business Advisor, realise cost savings. Implementing these cost savings will help mitigate the large rises in electricity and gas costs many businesses experienced in 2005, and savings in this way are often much easier to achieve than an equivalent increase in sales turnover.
Robert Hayes, one of Groundwork’s Business Advisors stated “Many companies would like to monitor and reduce their spend on resources such as electricity, but often the lack of available time and resources prevent this. Through membership of the North Manchester Resource Efficiency Club businesses can move forward to help achieve cost savings, which must be a New Years resolution for many managers and finance teams.”
The North Manchester Resource Efficiency Club is funded by Envirowise and ENWORKS, and delivered by Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale. For further details or to join, please contact Robert Hayes at Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale, tel: 0161 624 1444, rhayes@groundwork.org.uk
