The Rotary Club of Rochdale is to sponsor Rochdale Youth Orchestra’s Christmas Spectacular with Sing-along carols concert at the Gracie Fields Theatre. The Club’s involvement with the Orchestra started six years ago and has taken the form of sustained financial support.
Chairman of the Rotary Club’s Vocational Committee, Dr Elvet Smith, said, “In sponsoring Rochdale Youth Orchestra, we are helping to bring out the best in the young people in our community. We also support by attending the concerts and encouraging others in sponsorship. We are always delighted by the Orchestra’s spirited performance.”
The concert will be at 7.00pm on Saturday 10 December at Gracie Fields Theatre. Tickets are available from Touchstones in Rochdale or at the door.
Junior Orchestra Conductor, Sue Verity, said, “As a completely independent organisation and Charity, we appreciate very much the kind of support given to us by the Rotary Club of Rochdale. It helps us to keep up high standards in tuition and performance. Our members learn not just music-making but the ability to work together.”
