Queensway-based company Kerf Steel has purchased new equipment and employed four new members of staff, after receiving a grant of £76,290.
The grant means Kerf Steel, based on Queensway, is now one of a small number of companies with an ultra-high pressurised multi-access water jet machine to cut steel.
The grant from the Council is part of a total investment package for the company.
The company was set up in July 2015 and supplies specialist steel and parts for the specialist fabrication, agriculture and construction industries. The grant has allowed Kerf Steel to instead export products to Kenya and Malaysia.
Director of Kerf Steel, Dan Taylor from Littleborough, said: “Things are on the up, everyone has been very helpful. This is fantastic as we no longer have to import from China or the Czech Republic, we manufacture everything ourselves now.
“We’re hoping to double our turnover in the next two years and employ a further three or four members of staff in the next 12 to 18 months.
“We might need to move to larger premises in two to three years, but we’ll definitely be staying in Rochdale.”
