Springhill Hospice, Putting Fitness First

Date published: 03 August 2005

This August Bank holiday will see Fitness First Health Club and Springhill Hospice join forces to raise money for the Hospice’s 15th Anniversary Refurbishment Appeal.

A ‘Join for a Coin’ campaign is being launched by the gymnasium on Friday 26th August and this incentive will run until Monday 29th. Prospective members will be offered the unique opportunity to join for a minimum donation of  £1, which will go directly to Springhill Hospice.

The saving of £99 will be available for one weekend only and people who do decide to visit Fitness First will be entitled to a free 5 Point Fitness Assessment, ‘taster classes’, which will be available throughout each day and a charity car wash for the Hospice will also take place.

Kate Read, Regional Manager of the Health Club said, “We are extremely proud to be associated with such a worthwhile cause as Springhill Hospice. It is a one off opportunity to save almost £100 so we urge everyone to jump at the chance and of course any money raised will go to Springhill Hospice.

The event is intended to raise funds for the Springhill Hospice Refurbishment Appeal. Their aim is to raise £1.2m to fund a new purpose-built unit, which will contain patient and family rooms.
