I'm Julian Farnell and I am Labour's local candidate for Wardle and West Littleborough. I want to be your local councillor because I care passionately about our area and I want to make a real difference.

FIVE facts about me-

  • I have lived in Wardle for 27 years
  • I run my own business in Littleborough
  • I am a committee member of Littleborough Civic Trust
  • I am an active member of the local Canalside Development  Trust
  • I am leading the project to restore a canal barge into a floating community cafe

FIVE promises I will keep-

  • I will put you and our area FIRST at all times.
  • I will be a strong voice for Wardle West Littleborough.
  • I will hold regular advice surgeries.
  • I will keep in touch all year round with newsletters and walkabouts.
  • I will be a big supporter of all our community groups and hard-working voluntary workers.

FIVE priorities I will work hard to deliver-

  • Demand more police on the beat to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and vandalism.
  • Repair our roads and pavements.
  • Keep our local library and community centre open.
  • Tackle litter, dog mess and fly-tipping.
  • Make sure our ward gets its fair share or council services

FIVE Tory cuts that are hitting our area hard-

  • The Tory government has cut spending on essential council services by half
  • Rochdale has suffered fivetimes more cuts than Tory councils.
  • Local Foodbanks cannot cope with increased demand
  • 200 police axed from Rochdale’s streets and crime is going up.
  • Hospital waiting lists area at record high.

Labour is fighting hard to give you a strong local voice on the council. For too long the Conservatives have taken our area for granted. We need a hard-working community campaigner who will put you and Wardle and West Littleborough FIRST at all times.

Next Thursday is your chance to send a message the Tory Government cannot ignore - by voting Labour.
