James Edward Earnshaw
Liberal Democrat Party
Spotland & Falinge Ward
About me:
- Born and raised in Rochdale
- Married with two young children
- Have worked in both the public and private sector
- Lived in Rochdale all my life and for over 14 years in the Spotland and Falinge ward.
I am for:
- Protecting local services, especially those affecting the most vulnerable in our community; children and young people, the elderly, the homeless and anyone affected by mental health issues.
- Keeping our streets safe from so called ‘petty’ crime; those offences that affect so many of us.
- Ensuring that the council and its councillors represent the best possible value for the rate payers of Rochdale.
I am against:
- The 34% increase in councillors’ allowances
- The council’s failure to address the dangerous legacy of the former Turner Brother’s Site
- Any building on Rochdale’s green belt land
- Cuts to local services such as libraries
- The continually negative portrayal of Rochdale in the media.
If elected I will:
- Represent all communities within the ward and borough
- Work to ensure that the council does not allow the sexual exploitation cases of the past to be repeated
- Work to ensure that Rochdale council delivers value for money for the rate payer
- Campaign for a resolution to the Turner Brother’s site
- Campaign to secure funding for wheelchair accessible playground equipment in Denehurst Park (there are currently no such facilities in the borough)
- Work with residents of Falinge affected by the recent notice of demolition
- Work to address the parking issues in the areas surrounding Rochdale AFC’s ground
- Work with law enforcement to tackle crime in the ward.
Please vote for me on the 3rd of May for SPOTLAND & FALINGE.
James Earnshaw: I’m not in it for me. I’m in it for you.
