Sheltered housing residents from Rochdale, Littleborough and Middleton were treated to some VIP treatment at a recent Rochdale Hornets game.
The rugby league club invited the group to be their guests at their match with Dewsbury Rams.
All of the Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) residents were already familiar with the ground as they take part in regular indoor bowls sessions at the venue.
Despite seeing the Hornets lose out to Dewsbury, the group all enjoyed watching the rugby.
Among those who was there to take in the atmosphere and the action was Dot Wild from Clough Court, Middleton.
She said: “What a lovely gesture from Rochdale Hornets to involve us in a day like this. It’s been a fantastic day out and I have enjoyed myself in the company of others.”
Rachel Saunders, RBH Sheltered Housing Activities Co-ordinator, said: “We are very grateful to Rochdale Hornets both for the bowls sessions and the wonderful hospitality at the rugby game.
“Getting out and about and experiencing new things is something that our residents really enjoy and is an important part of helping them stay happy and healthy.
“RBH and Rochdale Hornets are both mutual organisations committed to helping the local community and so it’s great that we can work together in this way.”
