Hornets final friendly in their pre season campaign is against Leigh Centurions u20s on Friday 17 January, 7.30pm kick off.

The Hornets team will feature alot of the trialists currently working hard in pre season, as well as the first team players. Leigh will also be playing fringe first team members mixed with their academy team.

Coach Ian Talbot commented: "We always wanted an extra game as we have six or seven lads I'm yet to make my mind up on.

"We will take our full squad to Keighley and Leigh, and get everyone out on the field for a good period of time.

"That's what these early games are about, getting the lads game time and blowing away the cobwebs.

"We will start to look at structure and positions more in the St Helens and Hunslet games."

Ticketing details will be released in due course.

Rochdale Hornets Ladies are all in good spirits after their Christmas dinner at the Flying Horse and will be back in action early in the new year as they start their Ladies Challenge Cup campaign.

The ladies will be training throughout Christmas to ensure they are ready for the fixture away against York Ladies and have the edge over their opponents.

The last fixture against the two teams was a close encounter only to be ground to a halt with Hornets in the ascendcy by a serious injury to a York player.

The ladies have picked up experience and match fitness over the first half of the season and are confident they can make it to the next round of the cup.
