Reece Gray joins Halifax on loan

Date published: 29 November 2013

Striker Reece Gray has returned from his loan spell at Hyde FC and has joined Conference Premier side Halifax Town until 5 January.

The move was completed before the loan window closed on Thursday.

The 21-year-old said: “I’d like to thank Hyde for the opportunity they gave me. They are playing some good football despite the results and I hope their luck changes very soon.

“I’m ready for a new challenge and I’m looking forward to going out on loan to Halifax. I’ve played against them and they look like a good team. They’ve got a good stadium and a good pitch.

“I’ve spoken to Matty Pearson (the former Dale defender who joined Halifax following his departure from Spotland) a few times and I’ve heard a lot of good reports, so I’m looking forward to getting started there.

“I obviously didn’t play for 12 months because of my injury so I feel as though going out on loan is important for me to get my confidence back up, to get match fitness, to get games under my belt and then hopefully it will all come together. Being out for a year was really hard, but hopefully I’ll push on out on loan at Halifax and then fight for a place here.”

A club spokesman said: "We'd like to wish Reece the best of luck for his time at the Shaymen."
