Ex-Hornets player Mike Ratu Senior, with samples of Fjian food and traditional drink
The Rugby League World Cup roadshow rolled into the Rochdale Feelgood Festival this last weekend, as thousands visited to view the trophy ahead of the Fiji Vs Ireland Rugby League World Cup Fixture in October.
The Rochdale Fijian Association, led by ex-Hornets Mike Ratu Senior, were on hand to provide samples of Fjian food and traditional drink, 'grog'.
Mike Ratu Junior, third generation Fijian playing for the Hornets, was also present in traditional Fijian dress to help promote the fixture.
He commented: "Being awarded a World Cup fixture is massive for this town. Fiji has a rich history with Rochdale and, come October, we aim to celebrate this in style."
