Cricket: Milnrow v Rochdale - Tom Hardman Cup Semi-Final

Date published: 22 July 2013

Rochdale progressed to the final after winning by five wickets against Milnrow.

Rochdale won the toss and put Milnrow and it seemed like a great move after their opening batsmen, Alex Bartley fell in the first over.

Max Power then came in and went on the offensive but was out for 32.

Babar Naeem also tried but struggled and was out for 21.

Adam Yates hit 31 but was bowled by Highton to leave Milnrow struggling.

The lower order struggled to have an impact and the Milnrow innings ended with a score of 124-9.

Rochdale were quick in their response but the loss of the opening batsmen gave Milnrow a chance of a result. This only brought Scott Butterworth in who hit a quick fire 44.

Vital contributions from the middle order saw Rochdale home to a fairly comfortable victory.

Milnrow (124-9)
M Power 32, A Yates 31, B Naeem 21

Rochdale (124-5)
S Butterworth 44, S Ayres 21
