HLRC at Trentham Regatta

Date published: 13 June 2013

The Hollingworth Lake Rowing club WJ13 quad of Amy, Gabrielle, Sophie and Ellie with Laura coxing had a mishap so lost their heat, Tom (J13) won his first race but lost out in the final.

Mathew lost his heat (J16). Katie Hargreaves lost in her single but then won IM3 2x with Jess Smith to give HLRC their first victory.

Molly Archbold and Hannah Lowe raced in WJ12 2x against Trentham Boat Club, it was their first race ever which they won in commanding style. Kay and Carol had a nervous race and wet hands caused a few crabs!

The WMas coxed 4 of Liz, Mel, Jules and Ann with Tom coxing just missed out on a win as did Megan and Matthew in Mix IM3 2x.

Molly Archbold (WJ12) lost her single race to an experienced Warrington girl.

Somehow Eric, Jason and Mike convinced Ian it would be a good idea to enter MasD 4x - they managed to win both races convincingly but Ian has asked Trentham members to look out for his lungs which were lost around the 500m mark.

11 crews went to the Regatta and HLRC took a few other children who joined the club on the back of the Olympics, including Molly Archbold and Hannah Lowe, but they weren’t as successful.
