New shirt sponsor for Rochdale AFC

Date published: 28 May 2013

Rochdale AFC is pleased to announce that the new front of shirt sponsors for the coming season (2013/14) will be Crown Oil.

The club has also confirmed that they have secured a back of shirt and short sponsor for the forthcoming season, with Carbrini adding their name to the replica kit.

Crown Oil offer a range of fuel products and services, including emergency deliveries, and the company has gone from strength-to-strength over the past 65 years by growing to become the Crown Oil Group with the addition of other trading brands and divisions.

In addition to supplying oil throughout the country, the Crown Oil group provide multi-utility installations, mains gas and telecommunication services. This makes the Crown Group one of the largest independently owned companies in the North West.

The football club Sales and Marketing Manager, Iain Johnstone commented: "This was a difficult time to secure sponsorship and I am very pleased to have secured these agreements. Crown Oil has shown great support and commitment in becoming our new front of shirt sponsors and I hope that this is the start of a long relationship with them. I welcome them to the club and look forward to working with them.

"I must also thank Carbrini for their continual support and agreeing to sponsor the back of our shirts and shorts. They have supported us with sponsorship in the past and their commitment to the club is again evident with this new sponsorship agreement. It is great to see two local businesses working so well together."

Managing Director of Crown Oil, Matt Greensmith, explained the reason behind the new association with the club: "As a family run business originating from Heywood and employing many people from the area, we wanted to support the local football team and we are hoping that our involvement may also assist the club in continuing to promote itself on a national level. We wish the team all the best for the season ahead and are confident of a strong showing in the league following recent disappointments."

JD Sports Head of Football, Guy Walker, added: “We have built up a fantastic relationship with Rochdale AFC and are proud to be continuing this partnership into the 2013/14 season.”
