After a few weeks of disappointing results and only deciding to play once 30 minutes had passed we finally got back to winning ways on Sunday against a strong London side.

I’m a firm believer that the first 20 minutes of any game sets the tone of how the match will take shape however after a great first half we made the game much more difficult for ourselves than it needed to be and as Tol said in his post match speech, he had never seen a team as disappointed with win as we was on Sunday because we know we are capable of producing much better performances. But as they say a win is a win and personally I think an ugly win is always better than a pretty defeat. We as a team though need to develop that killer instinct when we get ourselves in front during games by simply completing sets and putting teams to bed.

It has been a tough few weeks for us with some poor results. We haven’t had the rub of the green with quite a lot of the referee’s decisions but we cannot feel sorry for ourselves and accept this as a reason because this is no excuse for the soft tries we have been conceding recently.

We are always prepared by the coaches each week in the right way and it is us as players who need to start games in the correct manner and not give ourselves mountains to climb.

We now have a week off to regroup once again and get over a few niggling injuries that are creeping into the squad however it may unfortunately take me a little while longer with two clean rib breaks being confirmed by the doctors.

The spirit in the camp is always great with the usual banter and everyone putting in the hard work to make us better as individuals and as a team. We even convinced Joe Bate that much that he needed his passport for the South Wales game that he brought it along with some Euros for good measure!

With our next fixture two weeks away to a Gloucestershire side who will be an unknown quantity we will have to prepare as well as ever to make sure we take away the three points that we should and most definitely need.

Every game will be treated as a cup final from now on as we cannot afford to fall any further behind the pace if we are to achieve our ultimate goal of promotion this season.

You will all have seen in the media recently about the ongoing situation Preccy is going though and I would just like to wish him a speedy recovery from all the players and we all hope to have you back with us soon!
