Mayfield travel to Warrington

Date published: 17 May 2013

Mayfield NWML side travel to Warrington on Saturday to face Crossfields in the NWML div three. Crossfields have struggled in the early stages of this season with only one win to their credit.

Mayfield  are relatively pleased with the way their season has gone gaining three wins from five starts.

The side currently has a good mix of youth and experience with some promising youngsters being guided the older, more established members of the team.

Coach Derek Buckley said: "Last week's game was a good example of this even though they were well beaten by a very good Blackbrook outfit.

"Blackbrook had a massive set of forwards and they proved Mayfield's undoing with their number eight running in three tries and most of the other scores coming from the pack."

"We have the basis of a good side here but last week we were missing six key players due to first team call ups, injuries and work commitments. We are hoping to have some of these lads available today and this will make a massive difference to the way we play."
