Mayfield 0 - 34 Blackbrook

Date published: 16 May 2013

Mayfield NWML  faced Blackbrook at the Mayfield Sports Centre and were soundly beaten by probably the best side they have faced this season.

The visitors arrived with a massive pack, while Mayfield were still trying to cope with the loss of six key players due work, injury and first team call ups.

The writing was on the wall early on with the visiting forwards dominating the game, although Mayfield never gave up and never took a backward step.

There were still some notable performances from Mayfield, particularly Anthony Greaves, Andy Battersby and Luke Hartley who made some crucial tackles on the Blackbrook forwards.

Also worthy of mention was the efforts of Chris McCormack and Sean Hill who between covered every inch of grass and must have been even at the top of the tackle count.

Greaves was awarded the M.O.M by the opposition coaches but he was pushed close by McCormack and Hill.
