Mayfield Preview

Date published: 02 May 2013

After the disappointment of last week’s defeat, Mayfield have a tough trip to Hunslet on Saturday.

Hunslet have been a bit of a bogey side recently for Mayfield, winning even when outplayed, so this is going to be a tough game for the Rochdale side.

Despite defeat, last week’s performance was excellent from Mayfield and they must have felt they’d done enough to win the game until the unfortunate dismissal of coach Sam Butterworth.

Hunslet have five wins from seven starts putting them in third spot in the division.

Mayfield hope to field a full strength side, although there are still doubts over the fitness of Matt Ovington, knee, and Butterworth, groin. Calland and Butterworth will wait until Saturday morning before naming their side in the hope that everyone has regained fitness.

The NWML side has a home fixture on Saturday at the Mayfield Sports Centre against Wigan outfit Ince Rose Bridge. Ince have struggled so far this season having only managed one win, but Mayfield will not be underestimating the oppositionand like their senior counterparts will be fielding the strongest possible side in order to secure the points on offer.
