Former Dale midfielder dies aged 42

Date published: 17 April 2013

Ex Dale midfielder Paul Ware has died aged 42 after losing his battle against cancer of the brain.

Ware played for Dale around 40 times after signing for the club in July 2000. During that time, he scored two goals for Dale, one of which was against his former side Macclesfield Town.

His best career days came playing at Stoke City where he first came under the radar of Dale manager Steve Parkin, and he is fondly remembered by Stoke supporters for the goal that took them to Wembley.
