Defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff is available to make his debut for Dale after joining the club on loan for the rest of the season from Preston.
Chesterfield boss Paul Cook could give striker Armand Gnanduillet his first start in English football.
Full-back Drew Talbot remains sidelined with a broken toe.
