Thistleyfield put in a strong team performance to take away the Jammy Dodgers unbeaten record and go joint top in time for the Christmas break.

Buersil Rugby-Rd were put to the sword by St Pauls Supremes, who ran out comfortable 15-10 winners.

This Tuesday sees the inaugral Rochdale Mecca Indoor Bowls Championships take place at Spotland Stadium. The laides are first on the matt at 10.00am, as team loyalties are put to one side in a 'Individuals' competition. The gents follow at 11.00am, followed by a mixed competition at 12.00noon.

All equipment is provided, and the game is played in a social, friendly spirit.
