Jammy Dodgers storm to the top!

Hornets Community Indoor Bowls League

The Jammy Dodgers stormed to the top of the Rochdale Hornets Community Indoor Bowls League last week as they destroyed Buersil-Rugby Road's (B-RR) unbeaten record 28-7.

John Haggerty, John Payne, Jeff Morgan and skip John Mansell (also knows as Union J!) were all impressive as the they registered big scores on a lot of ends that B-RR could not respond to.

Second place is currently taken up up Buersil Rugby Road, Thistleyfield and St Pauls Supremes who are all on 7 points, with St Pauls Temptations on 6 points, showing how evenly matched all of the teams are.

The All Stars team, which is open to any bowler who wants to turn up and have a go, are always on the lookout so get in touch if you want 12 ends of bowling in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

On Tuesday 11 December, Rochdale Hornets and Mecca Bingo will be hosting the Rochdale Indoor Bowling Championships.

The competition is aimed at all players, and entry is just £3 which includes free tea and coffee, 2 hospitality tickets for a Rochdale Hornets Game, Hospitality and membership at Mecca bingo and of course, 12 ends of bowling.

The ladies will be first up on the mat at 10.00am, followed by the gents at 11.00am, with a mixed competition in the afternoon.
