Hornets new Shirt goes down a storm

The first draft of the 2013 Rochdale Hornets Alternative Strip was revealed at last weeks meet the players night.

The shirt went down a storm in the room and the reception on the various social media sites was nothing short of incredible.

The design will now need to be approved by the RFL before being on sale in the new year.

In the mean time supporters will be able to get the 2013 home kit which will be onsale just before Christmas. But stocks are limited if you didnt pre order.

World Cup Petition At Hornets we are very supportive of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup and we believe that the cup itself should be named after the man who commisioned it and championed the idea of a Rugby League World Cup.

So we are asking members to sign up to our petition to have the Trophy renamed The Paul Barrière Trophy. Please click on the link to add your name.

Sponsors Evening
Thursday the 29 of November will see our Sponsors Evening when we showcase the club to prospective sponsors and partners.

If members have a business or have contacts that maybe interested in coming along then please contact the club so they can receive an invitation.

The event starts at 6pm with a buffet so people can come straight from work with the presentations starting at 6.30pm.

John Stankevitch has called on several hundred businesses in the area to invite them along. So far his hard work seems to be paying off with a bumper attendance anticipated.

Hornets hit the town!
After being involved in both the Town Centre and Wheatsheaf Centre Christmas Lights Switch On, Hornets are taking part in the Town Centre Reindeer Parade this Sunday, the 2 of December.

This popular festive event returns to Rochdale town centre for 2012. Father Christmas will parade down Yorkshire Street in his sleigh, pulled by his trusty reindeer and followed by a brass brand playing Christmas Carols, entertaining street theatre and local school children.

After the parade has finished on the Butts, meet Father Christmas himself and feed the reindeer in their pen. The children’s funfair adds to the day’s entertainment. 12.30pm-3pm.

Its great that Hornets are involved in all these events and it would be great to get Hornets members down enjoying the day.

As you can see the fixture provide a difficult task, but with the squad and coaching team we have assembled we are confident we can hit the targets we have set ourselves.

It does though show the progress that the club has made recently that before a ball has been kicked in anger we have been selected for a Televised game against our old rivals Oldham.
