Rochdale Mayfield review

Saturday afternoon’s fixture at Egremont sees Mayfield wind up their league programme.

Mayfield travel to Cumbria with a much changed side after several players have made alternative arrangements as the season was supposed to be over already.

Add this to the failure to show last week by Hull University and it’s a real tough challenge for the Rochdale side.

Mayfield should end the season in a creditable sixth place; given the poor start and the horrendous injury problems they have had to endure this is testament to the dedication of all involved.

Although this is the last league fixture next week sees the club in action in the preliminary round of the Challenge Cup when their opponents will be Bank Quay Bulls.
