Mayfield Alliance went down 38 – 12 at in form Haresfinch.

Facing a massive pack it was always going to be an uphill struggle for the Rochdale side.

The early exchanges were even between the sides with Paul Hancock, Sean Hill and Anthony Greaves causing problems for their hosts right from the off.

Three refereeing decisions of the season changed the course of the game.

Mayfield should have responded better, they didn’t and the home side grabbed three converted tries to demoralise their visitors.

Mayfield tried to get back in the game and managed a try in each half, the first a great individual effort from Andy Lee, the second a team effort with George Yewdale finishing the move.

Both tries were converted magnificently from the touchline by Anthony Greaves but it wasn’t enough.

Billy Percy was outstanding in this his last game as he leaves to get his teeth into his new career.

There were solid performances from Mark Nyland, and Craig White while Luke Senior Chris Leach gave their all for the cause.
